Homebirth. There really isn’t much like it in this world. I have had the privilege to witness and photograph 2 homebirths and each time I was left in utter awe.

Jessica and Larry welcomed their 3rd child and 1st boy to their family at home on January 8th, 2017. When Jessica and I met for our consult she had explained that she had two hospital births but this time things were going to be different. She knew her body could handle birth naturally, as she had birthed both of her daughters without medication.

For days leading up to the birth she thought James would make his appearance at any moment. We kept in constant contact. Luckily I was also a patient with her  midwife when I had my daughter and I had a great relationship with her as well. On January 8th when I stepped into Jessica’s beautiful home and started unpacking my gear and setting up, I listened to her through her contractions. Things started picking up very quickly. Her husband Larry was the most amazing birth partner I had ever seen. He was there at every moment holding her belly and whispering affirmations in her ear. I was in awe of their love and connection.

At 4:15pm James was welcomed Earthside at 8lbs and 20.5 inches of love. Jessica was such a rockstar! Larry was proudly boasting about his wife and how amazing she was. Big sisters joined soon after the birth to meet their baby brother, along with grandpa and grandma. It was a sweet and beautiful moment. It’s moments like those that I live for.

Birth is so amazing.

I am so happy that this session happened for Gaby and Montana! These two adorably young high school sweethearts eloped in Colorado. But they were so dang cold that they had to wear gigantic coats and couldn’t show off their gorgeous wedding garb. So naturally once they returned to sunny and WARM HOT Florida they knew they had to find a way to commemorate their awesome day. Of course, wedding portraits! I loved their style and the love between them shined so brilliantly. To top it off, the morning light on this day was just spectacular AND we didn’t sweat to death. Win win!

They are too cute for words, aren’t they?!

Warning….tons of beautiful baby belly photos ahead!! Big. Photo. Share.

Sometimes we photographers just have one of those sessions that could go on forever. When I was at Jessica’s I didn’t even realize that I ended up spending three hours with her. My sessions are usually half that! We had tons of fun documenting little baby James (see his birth photos here) growing inside his mama’s flawless belly with multiple outfit changes and lots if ideas. Plus her home is just gorgeous! Jess wasn’t the flowy dress on the beach type of pregnant mama. She wanted a private lifestyle session in her home. We started with a boudoir-esque bedroom look, moved into a cozy casual look, included her two adorable daughters for some mommy and me images and ended the evening with barely enough sun to experiment with a milk bath.   Jess is a natural beauty and her belly was just perfect…as you will see.
